Mehfil-e-Mushaira is a non-profit Web site dedicated to Urdu poetry. It was created on May 25, 1998, and is the first site in the world to present Urdu poetry from mushairas (poetry readings) on the Web.
The site contains audio clips of Urdu poetry recited by poets themselves in various mushairas held in Pakistan, India, the Middle East, Canada and the United States. The audio files are in RealAudio format.

March 22, 2007Sufi Tabassum’s poetic talent encompassed three languages; Urdu, Persian and Punjabi. He was a master of prosoby and even poets like Faiz were constrained to consult him in the craft of poetry.
A man full of life till the very end he will also be lovingly remembered for the poems that he wrote for children. He created the immortal character of ‘Tot Batot’ which has been the most constant companion of the children.
